Bernard James Zosso, 84, of Pocahontas, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2019. Bernard was born on February 27, 1935, in Engelberg, Arkansas, to William and Melissa Johnson Zosso.
Bernard was a loving husband, son, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, cousin, nephew, neighbor, and friend. He was a long-time member of St. John's Catholic Church, in Engelberg.
Bernard is preceded in death by his parents, William and Melissa Johnson Zosso; first wife, Mary Blanton Zosso; brother, Robert Zosso; four sisters, Elizabeth Larson, Dorothy Parten, Lena Zosso, and Teresa Zosso; and three brother-in-law’s, Martin Peters, Preston Parten and James McDaniel.
Bernard is survived by his wife, Gladys Goldorf Zosso, of the home; three daughters, Teresa Zosso, of Valparaiso, Indiana, Lavonna (Jeffrey Dashiell) Zosso, of Cicero, Indiana, and Gladys (Mike) Biddle, of Imboden; three brothers, William (Genevieve) Zosso, of Florida, Felix “Bud” (Pam) Zosso, of Arkansas, and Rudy (Barb) Zosso, of Pocahontas; four sisters, Marie Peters, of Pocahontas, Bea McDaniel, of Arkansas, Anna Mae (Darrell) Higgonbotham, of Arkansas, and Jeanie (Norm) Gossett, of Arkansas; grandchildren, Jason (Jane) Zosso, Bernadette Zosso, Michael (Lauren) Biddle, and Sylvia (Chad) Burgess; eleven great grandchildren; and four great great grandchild.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, on Monday, December 16, 2019, in the chapel of the Fears Family Funeral Home, in Pocahontas. A rosary service will immediately follow, beginning at 7:00 pm. Bernard’s funeral service will begin at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, December 17, 2019, at St. John’s Catholic Church, in Engelberg; Reverend Stephen Elser, officiating. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, in Engelberg.
Carrying Bernard to his final earthly resting place will be Jason Zosso, Mikie Biddle, Teresa Zosso, Travis Declerk and Ronnie McDaniel.
