Obituary for Billy Wesley "Bill" Bennett
Billy “Bill” Wesley Bennett, 82, of Pocahontas, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2019, at the Pocahontas Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Bill was born on November 5, 1936, in Pocahontas, Arkansas, to Wesley and Elsa Presley Bennett.
On May 9, 1960, Bill married the love of his life, Zelda Jean Rose. They were married for fifty-nine years. Bill was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, cousin, nephew, neighbor, and friend.
Bill was a proud veteran of the United States Navy.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Elsa Presley Bennett; sisters, Mildred Leathers, Bessie Bennett, Agnes Lumm, and Pauline Sears; brothers, J.D. Bennett and Harold Bennett.
Bill is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Zelda Jean Rose Bennett, of the home; son, Terry Wesley (Lisa) Bennett, of Florida; two daughters, Julie Ann (Terry) Benson, of Pocahontas, and Delta Jean (Roger) Jones, of Pocahontas; brother, Cleatus Bennett, of California; sister, Shirley Moore, of Illinois; seven grandchildren, Michael (Angela) Benson, of Pocahontas, Matthew (Sara) Benson, of Pocahontas, Melissa (Chris) Levitt, of Batesville, Jason Jones, of Pocahontas, Wesley Bennett, Spencer Bennett, and Garrett Bennett, all of Florida; four great grandchildren, Xander Benson, of Pocahontas, Halle Benson, of Pocahontas, Chase Levitt, of Batesville, and Avery Levitt, of Batesville.
A graveside service for Bill Bennett will begin at 10:00 am, on Saturday, August 24, 2019, at the Thomas Cemetery, near Attica; Vince Avery, officiating.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Michael Benson, Matthew Benson, Jason Jones, Wesley Bennett, Spencer Bennett, and Chris Levitt.
