Obituary for Carl Eugene Vanderver

Carl Eugene Vanderver, 73, of Pocahontas, Arkansas, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2019, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center, in Jonesboro. Carl was born on June 6, 1946, in Biggers, Arkansas, to Clifford and Lucy Jane Jones Vanderver.

Carl was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, neighbor, and friend. He loved his family and spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing.

Carl is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Lucy Jane Jones Vanderver; daughter, Brenda Kay Hamilton; brothers, Earnest Vanderver, and Charlie Jones; and great grandchild, Layla Rayne Wheetley.

Carl is survived by his wife, Janet Dickie Vanderver, of the home; daughters, Theresa (Lee) Brown, of Pocahontas, and Heather (Josh) Molencupp, of Pocahontas; sisters, Wanda (Lee Roy) Loggains, of Newport, and Ethel (Paul) Cleveland, of Pasadena, Texas; thirteen grandchildren, Amanda Pepion, Cody Byrd, Holly Busby, Malcolm Wheetley, Jenny Busby, Billy Barger, Corey Wheetley, Cordal Wheetley, Katie Busby, Haley Scott, Makenzie Wheetley, Garry Molencupp, and Jerry Molencupp; twenty-three great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and friends; and lifetime friend, Vic (Vonda) Martin, of Pocahontas.

Cremation has been chosen as the method of final disposition. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2019, from 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm, in the Family Life Center, at the Sutton Free Will Baptist Church, in Pocahontas.
