Obituary for Earl Floyd Hagar

Earl Floyd Hagar, 88, of Pocahontas, Arkansas, passed away at the Randolph County Nursing Home, on Wednesday, July 29, 2020. Earl was born on Tuesday, September 22, 1931, in Hopkinsville, Arkansas, to Rufus Floyd and Martha Louise Perryman Hagar.

Earl was a loving husband, son, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, neighbor, and friend. Earl served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion. Earl was also a longtime member of the Pyburn Church of Christ.

Earl is preceded in death by his first wife, Juanota Elizabeth Isaacs Hagar; second wife, Francis Brown Jones Hagar; parents, Rufus Floyd and Martha Louise Perryman Hagar; brothers, Cleo Hagar, Merl Hagar, and Cyril Hagar; sisters, Eva March, Vida Hurst, and Joyce Edington; daughter-in-law, Jeanne Burleson Hagar; and stepdaughter, Kathy Jones.

Earl leaves behind his son, Gary Hagar, of Doyle, Tennessee and step-son, Mike (Sandy) Jones, of Pocahontas; daughters, Marilyn (Wendell) Hogan, of Pocahontas, Carilyn (Stacey) Rouyer, of Pocahontas, and stepdaughter, Carol (Ron) Johnson; sister, Rita Waites; sister-in-law, Lural Hagar; grandchildren, Charles Rouyer, Jonathan Hagar, Adam Hogan, Lural Rouyer Williams, Jessica Rose Hagar, Christopher Alex Hogan, and Stacey Samantha Hardy; and eleven great grandchildren.


All services will be held in the chapel of the Fears Family Funeral Home, in Pocahontas, Arkansas. Visitation will be on Saturday, August 1, 2020, from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm. Earl’s funeral service will immediately follow, beginning at 2:00 pm; Gerald Fears, officiating. Burial will follow in the Masonic Cemetery, in Pocahontas, Arkansas.

The following individuals are honored to carry Earl to his final earthly resting place: Adam Hogan, Charles Rouyer, Tyler Hardy, Joseph Williams, Brent Hagar and Jonathan Hagar.
