Obituary for Carolyn Morgan
Ella Carolyn Morgan, 73, of Pocahontas, Arkansas, passed away on Wednesday, January 01, 2020, at 12:18 pm, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center, in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Carolyn was born on Tuesday, December 24, 1946, in Pocahontas, Arkansas to Zan and Ulelar Patterson Burgess.
Carolyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, neighbor, and friend. She was of the Protestant faith.
On December 31, 1971, Carolyn married the love of her life, Byron Morgan. They were married for forty-eight years.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, Zan and Ulelar Patterson Burgess; son, Randy Kerley; brother, Gib Burgess; sister, Kaye Atkins; and nephews, Paul Smith and Ronnie Burgess.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of forty-eight years, Byron Morgan, of the home; son, Bobby Kerley, of Pocahontas; brothers, Don (Sharon) Burgess, of Pocahontas, and Michael Burgess, of Pocahontas; sisters, Shirley Marlett, of Maynard, Lynda (Park) Leathers, of Pocahontas, and Kathy (Rick) Reed, of Pocahontas; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
All services will be held in the chapel of the Fears Family Funeral Home, on Saturday, January 04, 2020. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm. Carolyn’s funeral service will immediately follow, beginning at 3:00 pm; Dan Avery, officiating. Burial will follow in the Pitman Cemetery, near Supply, Arkansas.
Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
