Obituary for Frances Lee Jones Hagar (Brown)

Frances Lee Jones Hagar, 91, of Pocahontas, Arkansas, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2019, in the Hospice Care Unit, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center, in Jonesboro. Frances was born on June 16, 1928, in Pocahontas, Arkansas, to Dailey and Zelma Romine Brown.

Frances was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, neighbor, co-worker, and friend. She was a long-time member of the Westridge Church of Christ, and also attended the Pyburn Street Church of Christ and the Skaggs Church of Christ for many years.

In addition, Frances retired from Planters and Stockmen Bank after many years as a successful banking executive.

Frances is preceded in death by her parents, Dailey and Zelma Romine Brown; first husband, Dub “W.E.” Jones; daughter, Kathy Jones; brother, William Brown; stepdaughter-in-law, Jeanie Hagar.

Frances is survived by her husband, Earl Hagar, of Pocahontas; son, Mike (Sandy) Jones, of Pocahontas; daughter, Carol (Ron) Johnson, of Pocahontas; grandchildren, Wendy Jones, of Alexander, Jenny (Keith) Brooks, of Little Rock, Casey (Steven) Ring, of Paragould, Kyle (Tracy) Johnson, of Charleston, Missouri, and Kristy Walker, of Jacksonville; great grandchildren, Anna Ring, Elle Ring, Chloe Ring, Hannah Brooks, Ethan Brooks, Luke Brooks, Dylan Swint, Dagan Swint, Justin Steesma, Ayden Johnson, Lilly Johnson, and Kyleanne Johnson; stepchildren, Maryilyn (Wendall) Hogan, Carolyn (Stacey) Rouyer, and Gary Hagar; and amazing home caregiver, Mae Triplett.

All services will be held at the Skaggs Church of Christ, on Monday, September 30, 2019. Visitation will be from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. Frances’ funeral service will immediately follow, beginning at 1:00 pm; Gerald Fears and Kyle Johnson, officiating, and Howard Dunn, song director. Burial will follow in the Masonic Cemetery.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Kyle Johnson, Steven Ring, Ayden Johnson, Keith Brooks, Wendall Hogan, and Stacey Rouyer.
