Obituary for Glenna Cox (Meridith)
Glenna Meridith Cox, 88, of Maynard, Arkansas, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2020, at the Northeast Arkansas Baptist Memorial Hospital, in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Glenna was born on Thursday, July 16, 1931, in Maynard, to Charles Henry and Lena Mae Samons Meridith.
Glenna was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, neighbor, and friend.
Glenna is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Henry and Lena Mae Samons Meridith; husband, Willard Dean Cox; two brothers, Charles and Norman Meridith; five sisters, Velma Marlett, Leola Bland, Retha Hart, Louise Looney, and Erma McDougle; and one grandson, Bobby Martin.
Glenna is survived by her son, Ronnie (Liz) Cox, of Maynard; her twin brother, Glen Meridith, of Maynard; one sister, Gana Frier, of Pocahontas; one grandson, Travis (Julie Cox) Cox, Maynard; five great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Krystal and Elaina Martin, and Audrey and Adelynn Cox; and many nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
All services will be held in the chapel of the Fears Family Funeral Home, in Pocahontas, Arkansas, on Saturday, June 13, 2020. Visitation will be from 10:00 am – 11:00 am. Glennal’s funeral service will immediately follow, beginning at 11:00 am; Gary Gregory, officiating. Burial will follow in the Cox Family Cemetery, near Maynard.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Wayne Meridith, Jarrett Meridith, Blake Meridith, Trent Ingram, Logan Ingram, Clayton Ingram.
