Obituary for Jackie Pierce

Jackie Pierce, 89, of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones, on Sunday, September 15, 2019. Jackie was born on January 20, 1930, in Success, Arkansas, to William and Maddie Huntsinger Scates.

Jackie was a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, daughter-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, niece, and friend. She put God, her family, and her friends above all else in her life. Jackie was of the Pentecostal faith.

Jackie is preceded in death by her husband, Buel Q. Pierce; parents, William and Maddie Huntinger Scates; three brothers, Charles, Vincent, and Gene Scates; five sisters, Lois, Dee, Alma, Norma, and Ruby.

Jackie is survived by five daughters, Trudy (Fred) Touse, of Hot Springs, Brenda Redburn, of Walnut Ridge, Tricia (Charles) Andrews, of Powhatan, Pam (Lyle) Swearengin, of Walnut Ridge, and Carla Harrignton, of Hoxie; seven grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.

All services will be held in the chapel of the Fears Family Funeral Home, in Pocahontas, on Wednesday, September 18, 2019. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Jackie’s funeral service will immediately follow, beginning at 4:00 pm, on Wednesday, September 18, 2019.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Dustin Francis, Lyle Swearengin, Jay Swearengin, Tim Andrews, and Charles Andrews.

The family wishes to respectfully designate Jack Hinkle and Keith Alexander as honorary pallbearers.
