John W. Williams, 97, of Pocahontas, Arkansas, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2019. John was born on Saturday, November 26, 1921, in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, to Henry and Alta Hance Williams.
John was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was also a loving father, son, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, neighbor, co-worker and friend.
John is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Alta Hance Williams; son, J.B. Williams; and granddaughter, Vanessa Williams Pribble.
John is survived by two sons, Doris Lee (Gloria) Williams, of Pocahontas, and Dewey (Jan) Williams, of Fayetteville; daughter, Diane Hackworth, of Pocahontas; grandchildren, Christopher “Chris” Williams, of Austin, Texas, Jeremy Williams, of Maryland, Blake Williams, of Paragould, Chad Williams, of Pocahontas, Jason Taylor, of Little Rock, Brent Williams, of Rogers, and Misty Halberg, of Rogers; fifteen great grandchildren; mother of his children, Elizabeth Williams, of Pocahontas; and daughter-in-law, Carolyn Williams, of Pocahontas.
Visitation will be from 10:30 am – 11:30 am, on Wednesday, July 24, 2019, in the chapel of the Fears Family Funeral Home, in Pocahontas. A graveside service will be held the same day, beginning at 12:15 pm, at the Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery, in Paragould, Arkansas; Gerald Fears, officiating.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Doris Lee Williams, Dewey Williams, Blake Williams, Chad Williams, Jason Taylor, and Brent Williams.
