Obituary for Johnny Dale Hancock

Johnny Dale Hancock, 75, of Pocahontas, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2019. Johnny was born on May 25, 1944, in Bono, Arkansas, to John Alex and Maudie Lee Davis Hancock.

Johnny was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, son, co-worker, neighbor, and friend. In addition, Johnny was a proud veteran of the United States Army.

Johnny is preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Cash Hancock; parents, John Alex and Maudie Lee Davis Hancock; son, Jimmy Boyd; brothers, Cleveland, Kenny Ray, Jerry Wayne, and Carl Hancock; sister, Lavern Songer; and great granddaughter, Payton Smallwood.

Johnny is survived by one son, Duane (Cathy) Boyd, of Corning; four daughters, Julie (John) Chandler, of Bald Knob, Gunelda (Bruce) Storey, of Pocahontas, Vicky (Dean) Corcoran, of Bellvue, Nebraska, and Lisa (James) Knight, of Kensett; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Shawnee, Eric, Dakota, Lenny, Samantha, Daniel, Michael, James, and Lindy; great grandchildren, McKenzie, Chantelle, Dustin, Alexandria, Orianna, Katrina, Quinton, Preston, Jeremiah, Jacob, Tegan, Rory, Eli, Kayla, Natalie, Treyton, Indeya, Tori, and Racetlin; and the four new grandchildren that Johnny had the honor of receiving into his life, Zack, Amanda, Anna Clair, and Zayne Hubner.

All services for Johnny Hancock will be held in the chapel of the Fears Family Funeral Home, on Wednesday, October 9, 2019. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm. Johnny’s funeral service will immediately follow, beginning at 1:00 pm; Dr. Jeff Hamm, officiating. Burial will follow in the Lorado Cemetery, near Bono; military honors to be presented at graveside.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Justin Bennett, Dakota Comstock, and Teddy Wells.
