Juanita Bailey, 99, a long-time resident of Imboden, Arkansas, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2019, at the Pocahontas Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Pocahontas. Juanita was born on Wednesday, March 17, 1920, in Bay, Arkansas, to Wes and Alva Inman Rains.
Juanita is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Henry Brown, and Noble Bailey; brothers, Charles, Will, Blann, Allen, Wilson, Robert, and Paul Wesley Rains; sisters, Stella Moore, Myrtle Ferguson, Opal Ferguson, and Ruth Emerson; aunt, Jane Inman, who was like a mother to her.
Survivors include, son, Don Ray (Carolyn) Brown, of Pocahontas; granddaughter, Stacy (Robin Thellend) Brown, of Sunnyvale, California; grandson, Matt (Amanda) Brown, of Anchorage, Alaska; great grandchildren, Alice Thellend, Jack Brown, Edie Brown, and baby Brown, whose arrival is expected in April. She is also survived by two sister-in-law's, Doris Rains, of Paragould, and Dean Rains, of Mountain View, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Juanita was a retired school teacher, having taught at Pleasant Valley, Brown, Bay, Walcott, Greene County Tech, and Oak Ridge Central. She loved to fish, cook, sew, read, tend her flowers, and discover new baby calves.
Burial was in Janes Cemetery, near Ravenden Springs. A memorial service will be held at Fears Family Funeral Home, in Pocahontas, Arkansas, on Saturday, December 7, 2019, beginning at 11:00 am, with visitation from 10:00 am - 11:00 am.
