Obituary for Larry Charles Parten

Larry Charles Parten, 68, of Pocahontas, Arkansas, passed away at home, on Thursday, May 21, 2020. Larry was born on Thursday, August 30, 1951, in Pocahontas, Arkansas, to Charles Preston and Dorothy Zosso Parten.

Larry was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, neighbor, and friend. He was a talented carpenter, an avid deer hunter, and never met a stranger.

Larry is preceded in death by his wife, Karen; parents, Charles Preston and Dorothy Zosso Parten; brother, Jimmy Parten; and brother-in-law, Rick Campbell.

Survivors include, three daughters, Natalie (Brian) Kingery, of Pocahontas, Rachael (Casey) Jines, of Black Rock, and Leslie (Joseph) Godwin, of Pocahontas; one brother, David (Cindy) Parten, of Pocahontas; two sisters, Deborah (Kenny) Johnson, of Pocahontas, and Donna Campbell, of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida; seven grandchildren, Jordan Kingery, Taylor Kingery, Abigail Kingery, Kaylee Jines, Kelsey Jines, Makenzie Adams, and Mollie Godwin; special friend, Sandy Tribble; and many nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.

All services will be held in the chapel of the Fears Family Funeral Home, in Pocahontas, Arkansas, on Saturday, May 23, 2020. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm. Larry’s funeral service will immediately follow, beginning at 2:00 pm; Hal Collier, officiating. Burial will follow in the Clearview Cemetery.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Brian Kingery, Casey Jines, Joseph Godwin, Jordan Kingery, Taylor Kingery, and Jeremy Tribble.
