Obituary for Leo Russell Johnson Jr.
Leo Russell Johnson Jr., 71, of Pocahontas, Arkansas, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2019, at his home. Leo was born on Monday, June 28, 1948, in Portland, Oregon, to Leo Russell Johnson Sr. and Glady Fay Schoonover Johnson.
Leo was a devoted and loving husband, father, son, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, neighbor, and friend.
Leo was a prominent business owner and an avid golfer. He owned and operated Leo’s Automotive for many years and enjoyed golfing at the Rolling Hills Country Club. Leo was also a member of Skaggs Church of Christ.
Leo is preceded in death by his parents, Leo Russell Johnson Sr. and Glady Fay Schoonover Johnson Harrel; stepfather, Gene Harrel; great granddaughter, Sophia Grace Ward; brother, Terrance Johnson; and stepsister, Donna Arner.
Leo is survived by his wife, Linda Neomia Phillips Johnson, of the home; sons, Russell (Erika) Johnson, and Jamie Johnson, both of Pocahontas; daughter, Tracy (Greg) Ward, of Pocahontas; grandchildren, Timothy (Nia) Ward, of Orange, California, Nikki (Josh) Rice, Jamie (Ashley) Ward, Christian Ward, Ali Ward, Destiny Ward, and Maddy Ward, all of Pocahontas; great grandchildren, Leighanna, Rachel, Samantha, Lucy, Niko, Gregory, and Lyla; brothers, Gene, Billy, and Johnny Harrel; and sisters, Patricia Johnson, Lila (Andy) Burkig, and Kathy (Allen) Suess.
All services will be held in the chapel of the Fears Family Funeral Home, in Pocahontas, Arkansas, on Sunday, December 29, 2019. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Leo’s funeral service will immediately follow, beginning at 4:00 pm; Gerald Fears, officiating.
Cremation has been chosen as the method of final disposition. The cremation process will be initiated at the conclusion of all services.
