Obituary for Margaret Luella Curtis (Gray)

Margaret Luella Curtis, 89, of Pocahontas, Arkansas, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2020. Margaret was born on October 29, 1930, in Ironwood, Michigan, to Vincent and Helen Elizabeth Hanson Gray.

Margaret was a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, cousin, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, neighbor, and friend. She was a member of the Apostolic Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, in Maynard.

Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, Vincent Gray and Helen Elizabeth Hanson Gray Poczekay; husband, Marvin Franklin Curtis; daughter, Loreen Curtis; brother, Norman Vincent Gray; grandson, Steven Paul Curtis; granddaughter, Meghan Holt; and daughter-in-law, Heidi Curtis.

Margaret is survived by five sons, Roger Paul Curtis, of Radcliff, Kentucky, Grady Alan Curtis, of Reyno, Roy William (Ellen) Curtis, of Rector, James Marlin (Cindy) Curtis, of Maynard, and John Franklin (Charla) Curtis, of Appomattox, Virginia; six daughters, Karen Ann (Garry) Neece, of Pocahontas, Rose Marie (Danny) Cozart, of Maynard, Diane Helen (Michael) Godwin, of Maynard, Louise Beth Curtis, of Pocahontas, Tammy Sue (Steven) Phillips, of Bull Shoals, and Mary Elizabeth (James) Sanders, of Ravenden Springs; thirty-one grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; niece, Jana Kay (Mike) Wright, of Jonesboro; special friends, Vivian Sanders, of Ravenden Springs, Wendell (Janice) Mock, of Jonesboro, and Gerald (Katie) Fears, of Pocahontas; and many amazing caregivers from the Randolph Home Nursing Center, in Pocahontas.

All services will be held in the chapel of the Fears Family Funeral Home, in Pocahontas, Arkansas, on Thursday, February 27, 2020. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm. Margaret’s funeral service will immediately follow, beginning at 2:00 pm; Wendell Mock and Gerald Fears, officiating. Burial will follow in the Maynard Cemetery.

Carrying Margaret to her final earthly resting place will be Jake Foster, Joseph Godwin, Jonathan Curtis, Judd Loyd, Tyler Bice, Jacob Bice, Devyn Erazo, and Juan Erazo.

The family wishes to respectfully designate Josh McCurter, Tim Bishop, James Bice, Uriah Billips, and Chad Blevins as honorary pallbearers.
