Melody Ann Land, 61, of Pocahontas, Arkansas, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2019, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center, in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Melody was born on Friday, September 20, 1957, in Pocahontas, Arkansas. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, neighbor, and friend.

Melody was a member of the First Assembly of God.

Melody is preceded in death by her father, Bill Pitman.

Melody is survived by her husband, Jackie Land Sr., of the home; mother, Hazel Pogue Moore; two sons, David Wayne (Sharon Godwin) Pitman, and Jackie Land Jr., both of Pocahontas; daughter, Amber Hampton, of Pocahontas; brother, Robert Dale Pitman, of St. Louis, Missouri; and eight grandchildren, Madison Rash, Trever Rash, Logan Godwin, Jeremiah Land, Tristan Hampton, Peyton Pitman, Danny Robert Foster Jr., and Phoenix Foster.

All services for Melody Land will be held in the chapel of the Fears Family Funeral Home, in Pocahontas, Arkansas, on Saturday, August 31, 2019. Visitation will be from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. Melody’s funeral service will immediately follow, beginning at 12:00 pm; Terry Miller, officiating. Burial will follow in the Pitman Cemetery, near Supply.

Serving as pallbearers are James Johnson, Robert Morton, Logan Godwin, Austin Kelly, Bert Land Jr., and Steve Land.
