Peggy Jean Cook, 85, of Pocahontas, Arkansas, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2019. Peggy was born on Sunday, July 30, 1933, in Dalton, Arkansas, to Howard and Vada Rice Hogue.
Peggy was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, mother-in-law, neighbor, and friend. She was a member of Great Harvest Church, in Pocahontas.
Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Vada Rice Hogue; and sisters, Alta Crawford and Mary Sue Blackwell.
Peggy is survived by her son, Rick (Dottie) Cook, of Pocahontas; granddaughters, Mindy (Shane) Jones, of Jonesboro, and Melody (Gilbert) Lopez, of Batesville; and four great grandchildren, Koby, Caden, and Kylar Jones, and Ava Jewel Lopez.
All services will be held in the chapel of the Fears Family Funeral Home, in Pocahontas, on Sunday, July 14, 2019. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm. Peggy’s funeral service will immediately follow, beginning at 3:00 pm; Jeff Hamm, officiating. Burial will follow in the Masonic Cemetery, in Pocahontas.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Shane Jones, Gilbert Lopez, Bob Vandergriff, Bill Ingram, Jerry Hudson, and Brandon Hudson.
The family respectfully designates Jim Bates as honorary pallbearer.
