Obituary for Sharon Ann Smith (Hudson)
Sharon Ann Hudson Brooks Smith, 73, of Pocahontas, Arkansas, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her children, on Friday, March 27, 2020. Sharon was born on Friday, September 6, 1946, in Tulare, California, to Herbert Hadley Hudson and Iris Lorna Lance Hudson.
Soon after birth, Sharon’s family moved back home to O’Kean, Arkansas. She moved to Pocahontas in 1982, where she lived until God called her home.
Sharon was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt, neighbor, and friend. She was of the Baptist faith.
Sharon is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Brooks; her parents, Herbert Hadley Hudson and Iris Lorna Lance Hudson; her grandparents; and a very special niece, Tracy Thompson Loftin.
Sharon is survived by her two daughters, Robin (Mike) Vaughn, of Pocahontas, and Becky Brown, of Hoxie; son, Robert Rickey, of Pocahontas; eight grandchildren, BJ (Brittney) Brown, Taylar (Cody) Taylor, Dalton Rickey, Logan Vaughn, Dylane (Dillon) Beard, Nathan Brown, Lexi Rickey, and Justin Bateson; two great grandchildren, Rowan and Rylee Beard; three brothers, Vance (Debra) Hudson, of O’Kean, Tony (Carolyn) Hudson, Terry (Shirley) Hudson, both of Walnut Ridge, two sisters, Barbara Lemmons, of Walnut Ridge, and Pat Thompson, of Jonesboro; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Due to the ongoing coronavirus epidemic, Sharon’s family will have a private burial service at the Randolph Memorial Gardens Cemetery, at 2:00 pm, on Monday, March 30, 2020; Gerald Fears, officiating.
