Obituary for Silver Marion Myres

Silver Marion Myres, 85, of Warm Springs, Arkansas, passed away at St. Bernard’s Medical Center, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, on Tuesday, July 7, 2020. Silver was born on May 5, 1935, in Manila, Arkansas, to Cecil and Hazel Ruth Peterson Myres.

Silver was a loving husband, son, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, cousin, neighbor, and friend. He loved life and being outdoors. In addition, Silver was a cattle rancher, and a member of the New Home Church, near Warm Springs, Arkansas.

Silver is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Hazel Ruth Peterson Myres; brother, Doyle Myres; sister, Bernice Adams; and grandchildren, Kim Beller, and Silver Ray Myres.

Silver leaves behind his wife, Donna Jean Clary Myres, of the home; one son, Christian Mullen, of Paragould; three daughters, Gwendolyn Jean (Ford McDonald) Murdock, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Donna Marie Beller, of Newport, and Mary (James) Dixon, of Maynard; three brothers, Sam (Ruth) Myres, of Rockford, Illinois, Merl (Cathy) Myres, of Alabama, and Billy (Yvonne) Myres, of Texas; one sister, Jean Condict; grandchildren, Derrick Mullen, Cindy Jones, Sandy Brewer, Jennifer Beller, and Gayla Case; great grandchildren, Kayla Jones, Shawn Jones, Preston Case, Paisley Case, and Silver Myres; and many other loved ones and friends.

Due to COVID-19, the Governor of Arkansas has directed the Arkansas Department of Health to issue directives to all funeral homes concerning restrictions and guidelines for funeral services. As a result of the directives, the family of Silver Marion Myres respectfully requests that only family attend visitation and funeral services; ALL SERVICES ARE PRIVATE.

All services will be held in the chapel of the Fears Family Funeral Home, in Pocahontas, Arkansas. Visitation will be on Monday, July 13, 2020, from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm. Silver’s funeral service will begin at 9:00 am, on Tuesday, July 14, 2020; David Adams, officiating. Burial will follow in the Chesser Cemetery, near Noland.

The following individuals are honored to carry Silver to his final earthly resting place: Derrick Mullen, Cindy Jones, Sandy Brewer, Christian Mullen, Silver Myres, and Kayla Jones.
