Obituary for Terry Wayne Benton
Terry Wayne Benton, 51, of Maynard, Arkansas, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2019, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center, in Jonesboro. Terry was born on Friday, October 27, 1967, in Pocahontas, Arkansas, to William Lee Benton and Frances Louise Secrest Benton.
Terry was a loving husband, father, son, brother, neighbor, co-worker, and friend. Terry grew up in Rockford, Illinois. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. After completing his stint in the Army, he became a truck driver, and drove over the road for several companies.
Terry later joined his family after they moved back to Arkansas. He worked at Success Grain until the company closed. He then went to work for Nutrien Ag Solutions, where he was employed until his passing.
Terry is survived by his wife, Arleen Ingram Benton, of the home; parents, William Lee Benton and Frances Louise Secrest Benton; sons, Brett Garrett, of Pocahontas, Christopher, Matthew, Nicholas, and Justin Tomblin, all of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; daughter, Alexa Marie Benton, of Morton, Illinois; brother, Randy (Mary) Scott, of Machesney Park, Illinois; and grandchildren, Candance, Christofer, Remington, and Adeline Tomblin, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
All services will be held in the chapel of the Fears Family Funeral Home, in Pocahontas, on Thursday, July 18, 2019. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm. Terry’s funeral service will immediately follow, beginning at 2:00 pm; Al Feezor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Legate Cemetery.
Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Leroy Ingram, Nicholas Tomblin, John Heikkinen, Randy Benton, Chris Secrest, and James Sumner.
