Thomas “Tommy” Edward Bennett, 65, of Pocahontas, Arkansas, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House, in Jonesboro. Tommy was born on Thursday, June 17, 1954, in Pocahontas, Arkansas to Thomas Claude and Bonnie Laverne Bennett.
Tommy was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving in the 101st Airborne Division. He was a loving husband, son, brother, father, grandfather, neighbor, co-worker, and friend.
On May 26, 2001, Tommy married the love of his life, Christine “Chris” Thielemier. They were married for eighteen years.
Tommy is preceded in death by his parents; and younger brother, Scotty Bennett.
Tommy is survived by his wife, Chris Bennett, of the home; three sons, Darby Bennett, Carey (Michelle) Bennett, and Tommy Allen Bennett, all of Pocahontas; daughter, Leslie (Stephen) Malone, of Pocahontas; brother, Tim (Pam) Bennett, of Searcy; two sisters, Judy (Danny) Swann, of Pocahontas, and Debra (Greg) Parrish, of Pocahontas; and grandchildren, Tristan Bennett, of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, Kieran Bennett, of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, Maggie Malone, of Pocahontas, Martin Malone, of Pocahontas, Lillia Bennett, of Pocahontas, Violet Bennett, of Pocahontas, Brolin Bennett, of Pocahontas, and Jesslynn Bennett, of Houston, Texas.
All services will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2019, at the Sutton Free Will Baptist Church, in Pocahontas, Arkansas. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Tommy’s funeral service will immediately follow, beginning at 4:00 pm; Kevin Barnett, Nelson Henderson, and Randy Scott, officiating. Burial will follow in the Maynard Cemetery.
Carrying Tommy to his final earthly resting place will be Casey Swann, Chad Parrish, Braxton Bennett, Cody Bennett, Trey Dupuy, and Stephen Malone.
