Obituary

Curtis Eugene White, 84, of Warm Springs, Arkansas, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2020, at his home. Curtis was born on Tuesday, November 26, 1935, in Marlboro County, South Carolina, to Charlie and Alverta Poston White.

Curtis was a loving father, brother, son, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, cousin, neighbor, and friend. He was a member of the Faith Assembly of God, in Pocahontas.

Curtis was also an elder and a former chief of the PEE DEE Indian Tribe. He was also a member of the Family Worship Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Curtis is preceded in death by his parents; Charlie and Alverta Poston White; three brothers, Melton, Bobby and Jimmy; and four sisters, Helen, Betty, Pat, and Brenda.

Curtis is survived by his wife, Irene Weatherford White, of the home; one son, Charles White, of South Carolina; two daughters, Brenda White, of Warm Springs, and Marie (Danny Joe) Thacker, of Walnut Ridge; one sister, Gail (Robert) Bradford, of Haynes City, Florida; two grandchildren, Jeana (Mike) Duckworth, of Clover Bend, and Tasha (Bobby) Grant, of Cheraw, South Carolina; three great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

All services will be held in the chapel of the Fears Family Funeral Home, in Pocahontas, Arkansas, on Sunday, August 16, 2020. A memorial visitation will be held from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm. Curtis’s memorial service will immediately follow, beginning at 3:00 pm; Brandon Gates, officiating.

Cremation has been chosen as the method of final disposition.

COVID-19 restrictions are in effect. Those attending must follow the directives issued by the Governor of Arkansas that include, but are not limited to, the following: wearing a face covering, signing the contact registry, and maintaining social distancing at all times.
